I had some questions about doing my own mold removal. I don’t really have a huge problem but there is some water damaged drywall around the back patio doors. Do I leave it or should I remove it. I am not sure what tools I will need and the exact way to make sure I do it right? Thanks, Rodger

How do you stop humidity? It seems that my bathroom is getting mold on the walls. I assume it is from humidity. Will I need to remove all the walls or can I use some other method?

i recently walked into my apartment and found surface mold on everything, furniture, clothes, shoes, chairs, EVERYTHING! ive contacted the local county board of health and theyre responding, as well as the city inspector. my question, where do i live! im at my friends place and wondering what steps to take to proceed towards cleaning this mess! the landlord said i didnt air the place out enough? ridiculous! ive done my homework and found many sick tenants, present and former that fell ill to mold. so this is not isolated nor is it a one time deal. ie. clean and go. its in the walls i believe, you can smell it! any help or advice?

I just rehabbed a building to use it for a church. Within the past 5 months I see black mold eating through the ceilings new drywall. Could it be something that has been there all along, and can I get rid of it? It is growing pretty fast.

I think the audio course was great and very informative. Do you have a course online which you are selling, I have heard about your seminars and think your information is top notch. I have a inspection business and looking to get some info on getting started in the mold industry.

We apparently had a leaking chimney. It runs through my daughters room into the basement. The paneling that covers the chimney in her room has now bowed out and there is white fuzzy on the wall along with some black oozing stuff that is in the corner. I have had the chimney repaired and just recently cleared out my daughters room, we are going to take out all the paneling in the room and replace it with new drywall. My question is once this paneling is down, what type of clean up as far as the mold goes do I need to do? Thank you for your time and help.

Hi Maurice, I live in Florida and I\\\’m fortunate in that I don\\\’t have mold at the momeni, however, my A/C maintenance guy keeps after me to let him install a U1;//V type of flourescent light in the compressor casing. He claims this will prevent Mold. Is this neccessary?

we have mold in out attic. i think it was caused because of the heavy rain fall we had last summer. we installed a vent in the roof and sprayed bleach over the mold to help decrease it. recently we\’ve discovered that the mold is back and spreading. what do you suggest we do?

Check your perimeter walls, it sounds like their is some water issue you are not finding.
The only reason I can see is you did not find the source of the problem.
Their may be issues with the A/C system. Check out my Podcast about Air Conditioning leaking
or having to much humidity.

I am moving from one house that has flooded over and over for 12 years. I have tried to get rid of mold but have not been successful. Does everything in my home have to be cleaned before moving to the new house? Landlord won\\\\\\\’t fix the flooding problem and has not done anything about the leak in the stack over kitchen and bath area. Over the years, do you think all my belongs will need to be cleaned or thrown out?

We are embarking on a mold remediation on a bank-owned home we just purchased. The info on your site has been very helpful in approaching the project in a professional and safe way. We were shocked to find out that the remediation project would cost about $10,000 if we had someone else do it.

Remediation projects vary depending on the size. Either way you will need to be educated if you are going to do it yourself or if you have a contractor come in and do it for you.
Either way, be sure to understand the procedures so you don’t get a half complete job which can haunt you later.
